Zero Break Games to Enforce Location Restrictions

Zero Break Games has been watching the geopolitical landscape over the last several weeks as jurisdictions in the United States, Europe and beyond enact dangerous, tyrannical and abhorrent laws that impact content viewership by any kind of online citizen, including underage audiences. These laws, typically written under the guise of protecting minor citizens from porn and exploitation, adversely impact smaller companies and websites which are increasingly silenced and censored by these outrageous proposals and statutes.

It is thus with a heavy heart that Zero Break Games is making direct access to its websites a mandatory requirement for use by prohibiting virtual private networking and proxy access, and also blocking connections made from Mississippi, Florida and the United Kingdom as these locations are heavily impacted by these kinds of censorship laws in ways that Zero Break Games is not equipped to comply.

This decision is not being made lightly, and it is the belief of Zero Break Games that unfiltered and unrestricted access to any kind of digital content is a fundamental human right that should not be interfered with at the political or logistical level. Unfortunately, that is not the kind of world that we live in, and therefore it is easier and more convenient to take such drastic actions than to implement access controls that are beyond the level of affordability for an indie game developer.

Zero Break Games will continue to monitor the status of these censorship laws and will adjust its policies accordingly should the situation change to its satisfaction. In the meantime, we ask that you excuse any potential inconveniences which may result from these difficult yet necessary actions.
