If you’re seeing this after the date of its posting, then that was intentional; for the past two weeks, Zero Break Games has been on strike in support of the PlayStation Blackout with only this announcement queued to be available following the expiration of the strike period; no other work has been done during that time owing that the PlayStation platform remains as a planned target, albeit only after timed exclusivity on other platforms in response to the same business decisions for which the strike and blackout had been enacted. Because of this, development work had itself been struck as Zero Break Games holds developer registrations that were impacted by the blackout campaign.
With that out of the way, and if you’re wondering as to why there has been no confirmation of the business structure change… well, that didn’t happen either. That’s because it has been determined to be more cost-effective to continue maintaining the registration than to dissolve the filings as originally planned. Furthermore, certain operational aspects of Zero Break Games have been determined to be adversely impacted in the event that such dissolution had been filed, hence the decision to continue with the business structure as it currently exists. As such, there will be no operational changes with Zero Break Games as had originally been planned for.
Beyond this, work continues on recovering from the recent data integrity incident and has been coming along with minimal issues. Tail Force, in particular, is on track to resume normal development flows at any time from September 4-20. However, there have also been hard decisions regarding the status of prototypes and unfinished works within the Zero Break Games data archives in that the visual novel companion project has been cancelled and wiped from existence as the focus now centers exclusively on the platformer project; as a result of this, the unfinished and underdeveloped side projects within the Tail Force universe will not resume development. (This, however, is not completely set in stone – archival work for what had previously been Advent Heroes remains intact and is being considered for use to expand on the Tail Force lore with an adventure tale set predominantly upon the Aerodonian species’ home planet once work has been completed on the platformer project.)
Closing out this update is the announcement of a new character profile for Tail Force: Charlotte Jackson Wiley. Reports indicate (but are as yet unconfirmed) that her dismissal from the Sigmatech organization was but a precursor for her use of the exiled Sinistro clan to reestablish their place on the imperial throne off of the stolen passage master technologies as a puppet administration for her own dreams of imperial domination. It is also rumored that she is building a business enterprise of her own (currently believed to be known as Wileyworx Corporation) as a front to facilitate that plan. However, due to her dismissal from Sigmatech and the deletion of her data file within the organization, the record of her appearance is pending for a complete reconstruction as a part of the ongoing investigation.
More information on these and other matters are to be expected in the coming weeks and months as Zero Break Games ramps back up to full throttle.
