Zero Break Games is pleased to announce that Tail Force is back in full development and has reached the first milestone of progression. With this update, full story contents and level design have been completed for the opening mission and the base story is now finalized in order to support this development.

The game opens in a mana teleportation research lab that was hastily abandoned in the early morning hours by the Sigmatech enterprise of the Aerodonian homeworld, shortly after the report of its main project seemingly claiming the effects of founder Alexander Sigma and his daughter Emily. With the presumed demise of both the corporate brainchild and her father to the incident’s aftermath, little remains as to why and how the device is now believed to be targeting random locations within the Aerodonian landscape, or if its retrieval is even safe to ascribe; however, on the orders of grand empress Cleopari Tutenso and at the behest of Alexander’s presumed widow Carli, an attempt to secure the device is authorized nonetheless. Leading the response team are Commanding General Sandra Mettaton and field captain Nefersila Takumis, with deputy knights Julia Sanderson and Nathan Daniels providing recon. As the field response progresses, however, Emily suddenly and unexpectedly manages to reestablish contact with her species through her telepathic sense, providing insight on the project’s troubled history with a research team member who has since been fired by Sigmatech for undisclosed reasons… but which are revealed throughout the course of both securing the device and countering an unanticipated rogue response by the lab’s security mechanisms. And to top it all off, there are at least a few other aspects of the incidence which are nowhere near what they initially seemed to be.

Also, and in line with the resumption of active development, is the release of the first official screenshots of Tail Force, showing off the opening act of the game in full detail.

Regarding platforms, Tail Force is currently planned to release on PlayStation 5, itch, GameJolt, Steam and the Epic Store with initial mobile device availability planned for Android. Following security and support guidelines, itch, GameJolt, Steam and EGS users will be required to use Windows 11 for installation and gameplay; additional builds targeting Linux will be released at a later date. Prior generation platforms such as PlayStation 4 and Windows 10 will not be supported.

I’d show you more in the course of this update, but of course I can’t give too much away. Rest assured, however, that with development now back in full swing, this will not be the last of it so keep an eye out for future information and release plans as it becomes available.
